About Unearthed Brilliance
Unearthed Brilliance is a 501c3 nonprofit dedicated to identifying, nurturing, and empowering hidden talent in underserved Black and marginalized communities. Inspired by witnessing brilliance overlooked due to systemic barriers, our organization creates long-term educational pathways that connect local brilliance to global opportunities. We believe talent is universal, but access is not—and we’re committed to changing that.
Through our holistic approach, we provide mentorship, scholarships, academic support, career coaching, and leadership development programs. Our motto—Unearth. Unlearn. Unbound.—guides our work in dismantling limiting narratives and systems while building futures. Led by experienced professionals who combine local insight with global perspective, we empower young people to succeed academically, develop critical thinking skills, and shape the world around them.

Remove financial barriers to education through scholarships and provide comprehensive academic support including tutoring, enrichment programs, and knowledge-building initiatives. We help students develop the academic foundation and confidence needed to succeed at every level.
Career Coaching & Opportunity Access
Prepare students for meaningful careers through career coaching, professional workshops, internship placements, and direct connections to global opportunities. We bridge the gap between education and employment, ensuring students are ready to thrive in their chosen professions.
Founder’s Story
Unearthed Brilliance was founded by Amiri Lampley, an educator, lawyer, and lifelong advocate for equity, justice, and human potential. Her journey began in classrooms, where she witnessed untapped brilliance in students denied opportunities due to systemic inequality.
Later, as a civil rights advocate and attorney trained at the University of Chicago, Amiri gained insight into how inequality is built and sustained. She realized that talent is universal but access is not. Unearthed Brilliance was born from the conviction that meaningful change requires long-term investment, not temporary interventions.
Amiri’s vision includes building transformative educational pathways that connect local talent to global opportunities. Unearthed Brilliance is not just an organization—it is a commitment to unearthing potential, unlearning inherited limits, and helping the next generation live unbound.
